Default What is the story on this pic or make one up (?)

OK, what is the story on this picture? Why is this woman kind of excited? Who is she? What is she holding? Is that her car? WTH?

I think her and boyfriend taking pic just robbed a bank and are celebrating on the beach in Baja.

I'm......uhhhhh........speechless. (For a change.)

And you could add another question to this. What's with that ugly outside mirror?

Deduction says its a 1970, to me. Caps are not 72, fender is not 71, Headrest are low. Mirror could be a '70 replacement for the single chrome side mirror offered on those cars. But, what does the emblem say Under the Firebird emblem ??

Off-hand I'd say '350' but it almost looks like '400'?

Looks to me like she's holding her top....hence her 'excitement', and that black tube-top is a later photoshop style addition!

My 70 Formula 400 looked just like that, Lucy Blue with steelies and poverty caps. The 71 would have vents in the fender, so it would either be a 70 or 72. The low back buckets say it's a 70, so the emblem is probably a Formula 400 emblem.

I don't know what the deal is with the mirror. Maybe early production?

Formulas say 'Formula 400'.
That looks like it is just a CID designation only.
(not long enough for it to say Formula)

Could it be an Esprit emblem? I believe the Esprit emblem is mounted right below the Firebird emblem on the early cars.

I agree. It looks to me like a 1970 Espirit

definition of Espirit: vivacious cleverness or wit

Pontiac had one of the best marketing divisions and seemed to be in tune with the times and even trend setters (think GTO).

Would you have any pics of a 70 Esprit with the ESPRIT under the FIREBIRD?

I seem to remember only the CID emblems (or Formula 400) under the FIREBIRD emblem?

Here's a link to a 1970 Esprit:

1970 Esprit

I go along with the tube top being taken off, and she(?) is celebrating.

That's why I think it's a standard Firebird with either 350 or possibly a 400 in it.
