Have you reported it as stolen to the police? At least then anyone trying to title it or having it in their hands if pulled over would have some tough questions to answer.

I think theres alot more to this story then being given, hes had possesion of the car for quite some time, and now the owner is trying to find it by posting on the board after all this time, but have the authorities been called? and can you actually prove you own it?Like i said there is more info that needs to be known here

Dave his wife Lori works for the monroe school and his mom works for the old folks home I think it's called Ogle County hospice. Dave you reported it stolen correct? Found the county assessor in Elgin or Carol Stream Locate his mom tell her you are a long lost friend from high school and wanted to get back into contact him. or tell her you are a state offical from the unclaimed property div. and you have something for him Call the PO PO and tell them he stole the car you have the judgment against him in Florida.

I guess my question is, How old are those pics and how long has he had the car?If it has been as long as it seems this may be old news and he and the car are long gone?

DAVE....Its taken so long to FIND the car, I would be heading that way right now!

Is that the car in the pictures?

Drive there with trailer, title and call local Police dept, have them meet you there and tell them you want to pick up your car.

Bad situation this is since hes made some payment. To bad you couldnt give him the cash back and call it even. Police may not get involved if he tells his side.

Good luck.

Jeff

Dave:

Do ya think, since you're waiting for the right time, that maybe you shouldn't have announced on the Forum that the car's been found?

I think the best thing in the circumstances would be for you to get someone to repossess it for you. If he's given you some of the money toward it then I wouldn't think it constitutes theft and the Police wouldn't get involved. If they found it for you then it's plus, but they don't get involved if money's changed hands. Unless, there was some fraud involved.

Sound's like he enjoys all the drama more than he enjoys having the car.

If the police know about the car and know where it is and it has been reported stolen, Then why dont they have it in IMPOUND already? You say you filed a report didnt you? you know where the car is you said right? Seems like this post is going nowhere, if this was my car and i knew where it was i would be on my way there getting it back, not wasting time posting on this board crying about it. Am I the only one that gets this?
