Default 76 TA power window issue

Just bought this one...and sorting out the usual fun stuff...

Pass side works fine up and down...

Drivers side goes down fine....but will not go up on switch....

Tried several switches...and same deal.....

If I put power directly to motor....it rips...both ways...

My test light shows power to wire connector that connects to motor...

Could this be the relay on steering column bracket?

Any input is appreciated...

That relay on the column essentially provides power to the switch when the ignition is on. So if one side works, it’s working.

“My test light shows power to wire connector that connects to motor...”

Are you testing that at the switch connector? I wasn’t sure what you meant. I’d test for continuity between the up terminal on the switch connector and the motor. If none, there is a break somewhere between. If there is, could be poor contact made at the switch connector.

I’d consider using a multimeter to see how much voltage you have at that location. Maybe it’s enough to illuminate your text light but not enough oomph (technical term) to put the window up

It appears to be the switch connector......If I squeeze it on the switch it works...

Also they switches esp the repops are hit or miss. They actually have small "points" that make the contacts and often they barely touch.

They do sell those connectors separately also.
