Thanks guys! It was just a local show. Not like winning the Nationals or anything! LOL

Brew: Didn't take a camera to this show. Whatever happened to our cruise weekend? I was looking forward to it. Did it die?

Default '73 TA SD 4 spd Color #'s

Does anyone know the actual number of each color of the 72 4-speed SD TA's built? It seems like there are more BG cars than white or red.

not sure if anyone has number and color breakdowns for every car, but I looked at the SD registry and out of 30 registered '73 SD T/A's with 4 speeds, 14 were Brewster Green, 8 were White and 8 were Bucaneer Red.

Default Insurance Value for '73 SD

Hey guys. I have another question for you all. I want to increase the insurance coverage on my '73 Brewster Green 4-spd SD455 to $100,000. The car is solid, 100% original and matching, and probably a true #3 in actual condition. Do you think I'm shooting too high with the coverage amount? The agency is also asking for information to justify the increase. Is there any available auction results with '73 SD TA's I can access or article's concerning values?

Thanks, DJ

RicksGTO - Yeah, that's what I've seen as well. Not sure if that means more 4-speed BG cars were built, or what. I remember not liking the BG color that much when I was 17 years old when the cars were new. Seems to be more desirable now.

I don't think 100k is too high at all for that car. Here's the last auction I know of with a 73 SD.

SD73 - Thanks for the link to the Epay auction. I was under the impression that maybe that particular TA sold post auction for more than the final bid listed. I think that the amount I want for coverage is realistic. I don't want to be too low.

Any other auction results for '73's out there? NADA prices are way too low and don't factor in transmission or other options. Are there other price guides that are more inline with reality for our SD's? I need to find concrete evidence that they (SD's) are worth more than what they (insurance company) think
they are worth.

Thanks, DJ

I went through the same thing with AAA Collector Coverage. They wanted evidence because all there sources said these things go for a lot less. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of internet sales to back what I was proposing I wanted my coverage for, so I couldn't get it. I'm still with Hagerty (which I'm very happy with) but it it a little higher and for a lower stated value. With 252 total '73s it's not going to be easy going to find a lot of comparables.

Here is a link to the RM Auction from February 2008 where a Green SD455 TA sold for $148,500. It was nut/bolt restored-PERFECT, Brewster Green/black deluxe interior/automatic trans. It did NOT have the factory transmission from what I recall, but the engine/rear end were factory correct.

My Brewster Green/automatic trans TA has been insured for about $115,000 the past 2 years. It's insured thru Hagerty based on an appraisal from 2007 (appraised by Mike Grippo). I'd say it's condition 2ish. Mine is the car on YouTube.

Whose your carrier ? if its Hagerty they have references of cars insured for allot more then noted.

It seems there are more green cars around lately then others but from what I have seen the white and reds ones where more track cars (crash and burn) and the Brewster green cars saved due to how rare and beautiful they are.
It goes red, white, and then green for numbers(imo), however the white ones out there seem to all be drivers less one in michigan owned by a PY'er here thats an automatic car Wing did a couple years ago.
The two white 73 sd's owned in Wisconsin that Im aware of are from Chevy collectors who one just sold and the other sits down by Milwaukee.
Allot of these cars are still not registered in order to know for sure thus the argument goes on.........
LOL,
Brew

There are more green ones around now because the owners where to embarrassed to drive such a homily looking car. Therefore higher survival rate . Just where dark sunglasses when your'e driving it.

LOL, that's because the slower, green cars, are, well, slower and that's why they stayed in the garage, in the dark..........JUST KIDDING!!!!!

Brew, don't you have a little story to tell, with pictures, of you last visit? I'm not talking about the new additions to EvBoCo either. Thought you were going to change your avatar????

It's NOT drag racing when the red car is always faster..........

Will post some pics soon of the drag race results from Lake In The Hills!

Did you know in the state of Illinois you can be arrested and have your car compounded for Drag Racing ? Yeah, thats right! let alone proof of insurance, speeding, failure to use a turn signal when switching lanes, reckless driving, disturbing the peace.........oh, thank goodness I didnt have the WHITE COOLER!
Wow, I sure didnt!

That's cause I dogged him and pulled in to Tom's market and at that point he had no choice but to pull you over. Sorry Brewster, It was there and I took advantage of the opportunity. I waited there for him to come "talk" to me but the cop drove away after being entertained by Brewster.

WE got lucky..........Again.

Spell check got me on that one Greg, but thanks for the correction!
Ahh D, if I wouldn't have warned you about the approaching Dodge I believe you would have been sitting on the side of the road all by yourself???? I must admit however that Red car rocks and can take my stock running car any day.

Lucky, I think thats the first time I got puled over and the officer didn't ask me to open the hood.
