Default Rear spoiler or not?

I'm finishing a frame off resto on my 72 Lemans sport convertible with T41 front end. My goal was to replicate how it was originally built. Except color. The person I bought it from had painted most of it Lamborghini orange rather than sundance orange. I love the new color. I like the sporty look of the rear deck spoiler, but not sure if it would detract from the originality of the car or look. I need to decide, because I plan on finishing paint in next few weeks. So, would you leave as is or add the spoiler?

I would do it. I always felt the 70-72 spoiler helped balance the car with endura front end. Especially on a convertible

My opinion is to forego the spoiler, especially the whale tale. Personally, I can't stand them. If you drive your car often enough, you'll get PLENTY of attention with or without a spoiler. But, if YOU like it, go for it.

I do not like the'70-'71 spoiler unless it was original to a Judge. I have a '72 LeMans Sport convertible and I would never put a spoiler on it.

My thought was the whale tail, since the ducktail reminds me too much of the Camaro spoiler. The whale tail just seems to be a GTO thing.

I like the gto judge spoiler on the 70-72. I think the rear of the car is just to plain looking and the spoiler gives it badass look.

I like the spoilers v no spoiler. You asked for opinion... ya gots it. I think they add 25+hp in my mind.

I have the same thoughts about my 69 Firebird. I think the rear is just plain. I like the camaro style but then it looks so... "camaro". I also like the TA style but then it always looks like you're trying to be TA. And you aren't a TA. So in the end you just need to do what you like and tell everybody to get bent. But if you are trying to be original that is different. To be or not to be... hmm. I've heard that somewhere before?

I like the 70 rear spoiler....better looks than the 69 IMO. Was going to put one on mine but I couldn't bring myself to drill the holes. Maybe someday,,,satin black. I'd say go for it.

I have the judge spoiler on my 72 LeMans Sport convertible. I love the looks of it. Very period correct style. Do what you like. I think they are cool.

Subtle certainly has it's merits. Normally, I'd say no spoiler. But the color is not subtle. As 1965GP mentioned, there's also balance. The T41 nose is hardly subtle either.

A regular LeMans nose would've generated a "no spoiler" vote from me, even with the color. Mark me down as in the wing camp this time.
