Default TCS switch on front of intake manifold

Just curious, if I disconnect all vacuum lines from the tcs switch, does it still have any vacuum? All other vac. ports have been capped on the intake and the carb. Can I leave the ports on the tcs switch uncapped? I had a metal line come out of the rubber block when I pulled the vac. line off from it, and now I can't get it back in. I wanted to bypass the switch anyways to simplify things.

How I understand the switch is that you need a vacuum source fed to it and then, depending on coolant temp. it will pass on that vacuum signal to other ports on the "tree". So if it's disconnected from vac source it does nothing. Why not just take it out then?
