Default 1973 Brewster TA- Int. TR code 232?

Hello,

The "TR" code on the cowl tag in my TA is "232". I have been unable to determine what interior came in my car as I have not been able to locate a decoder on many web sites I have visited. Can anyone here provide a good web site to decode the 232 code?

Thanks,

Dave

with many of the early Norwood built cars you have to drop the leading "2" and add a "1" to the end of the trim code from the cowl tag to get the actual code, so yours is really code 321 which is Standard White Morokide (vinyl). Here's one good site for the codes:

Thanks so much, I was not aware of the dropping and adding of the #s.

Default Being Restored

Thanks! I am performing a complete frame off restoration on the matching #s car. When I obtained the car, the front and back seats were previously recovered profesionaly, and are perfect. The problem is that they are done in black and I want the interior to be correct. Perhaps someone wants these seat covers and I can use the proceeds to help pay for "white" seat covers?

Thanks again.

Default White or Off White??

As I look at the current Year One Catalog, they offer both "White" and "Off White" for the seat color material for my 232 code T/A. How would I determine the correct shade of White for my car?

Thanks again.

Off White would be correct for a 73. Standard or bright white looks better but was not available until 75 if I recall correctly. I'd tell you to look at all your trim parts but it sounds like they may all have been painted black.

Default Off White?

Thanks Bob,

I just cant tell by looking at a few of the trim pieces that I do have if they are "off White" or White. I just want to get this car correct. Also, Would the package tray be black in color just like the dash and console?

Thumbs up

If it has a Tuxedo interior than everything is white except for the dash, console, carpet, package tray, and kick panels. All else would be off white. I have never seen this combo in a BG car. I bet it would be striking and rare.

Well I believe it is a Tuxedo interior because the dash, console and kick panels are in fact black. The kick panels do not appear to have ever been out of the car. There was no carpeting or package tray or headliner in the car when I bought it. Do you know if the PHS paperwork would clarify this if I were to order it? I ordered a PHS kit for another car I owned several years ago and I did not think it was really worth the money.

I have a white '73 TA with tuxedo interior and it is definitely off white. Agree, I think bright white would look nicer. The off white has a lot of yellow in it. PHS paperwork only lists the build codes for the car. It doesn't provide any more detailed information than what's on the data plate.

I had a 73 white with tuxedo interior and blue carpet. Cool looking combo! Wish I had that one back.

I'm trying to find a picture for you reference for the color combo, however I have realized I do not have any interior pictures of my car. Let me know if you have any questions, I have the tuxedo style interior your were describing with the off-white color. My interior option is the deluxe option, which I believe is the 242 option.

Default Tuxedo

I would love to see pictures if you have time to take a few. I assume that the seatbelts would be "black" in color with the tuxedo? Thanks so much.

Default Tuxedo question in 73 Brewster?

One more question on the interior color scheme; the metal panel that is below the lower edge of the rear windshield that the black package tray slides under; should that panel also be "Off White" to match the inner sail panels, headliner etc? If not, then black?

Thanks again

Does your trim tag have BLK on it?

Default Black or white?

The trim tag does not have "black" on it. just the #232.
