Theres only a few Pontiacs (NA or PA) out there racing that are making more then 1,500 HP. This is only a Bracket type engine (thats a lot for that type of engine) like mine, its being built to stay together.........the Racer that is having KRE build it for him ONLY wants around 1,500 HP, its not a balls out heads up or Top Sportsmen type race engine. Customer wants customer gets! 1,500 hp is a lot!

I don't understand why YOU or ANYONE else is knocking his 1,500 hp its what HE the owner of the heads and engine wants...it may only take 18 lbs of boost to do it (or less). I think you or anyone else are a piece of sh_t for criticizing why he wants. The guy will have the only Hemi Pontiac racing at the Pontiac race and you know what he may not want to go as quick as 1,500 hp takes him, he my only run 10 lbs of boost.....its his car and engine. FYI it'll still make more HP then 95% of Pontiacs out there!! GTO George GTO George |

There's no reason that every discussion in the Race section has to deteriorate into a petty argument, and I get tired of having to watch for posts that need to be deleted. Calm down, everyone.

How bad do the opposing valves limit the camshaft?

One would need to need some details about the heads design. If memory services me on the Chrysler 426 on some Big Crane Roller cams we had to reduce the exhaust valve size.

So, does the combustion chamber shape and plug location make up for the cam / valve limitation? |

Scott,
While we may have used a KB block or 2 a lot was from Chrysler. All of the engines were N/A must carb but a couple with the early hilborn injection. First there was the single plug street head and then the dual plug head. Also the hemi 2 inch valve gear. Then the D4 I talked about. So no idea about BAE stuff. Did you run the "FAT head"? Stan

It has nothing to do with the material.... it's a design issue... BAE rockers don't oil on a cold start... we have to literally oil the rockers if the engine is cold... Putt the covers and oil... t&d has figured it out... no need for cold oiling... The BAE rockers work only off of splash.. Been that way for 25 years.. Recently changed but the t&d 's were only 6k for 2 sets... |
