I'm pretty sure I saw the grilles in the AMES catalog. I recently repainted mine and was looking for the trim pieces when I'm pretty sure I saw them...don't recall seeing the doors.

They look perfect to me...Exactly the way I finished mine as far as pattern and color.

Got 68 non-Hide-Aways yet been scheming to add those covers, and manually take them off.

Don't mention it Gilligan.
If you get the repop let us know how they worked out. Refinishing mine was so labor intensive it crossed my mind to buy some based on those Ames pics. My grilles came out nice but there are still some dings and divots here and there on some of the vanes that I didn't really notice until they had fresh argent paint on them.

If you think that that was fun, try a set of (non-judge) hideaways. Getting silver on the edge and sides of all the egg crate but black inside each square. I did it about 20 years ago, it took days and involved hanging the door grilles upside down in my furnace room and rolls of tape and many exacto blades!

I went with the repops from Ames and am very happy with them. I originally bought the headlight door covers because several of the attachment holes on mine were broken. I was going to refinish my inner grills, which were in good shape, but decided it was too much of a pain to refinish and try to match the exact paint of repop door covers. So a year later bought the repop inner grills. I used my original chrome trim pieces and the fit was perfect. I would recommend the repops. A few pics below.
