Thanks, Ken. I took a few others while I was there. Have you gotten your pictures back with the GTO?

Oh no you might not want to see this thing! The key has not been the ignition switch in 15 years. The people I got the car from the local pontiac dealer in 1972 and they had it ever since. Now its mine. I have done a few things to the engine and replaced the complete fuel system. The car runs abd drives great. Still looks bad but im going to get started on that part soon.

Our 69' GP, Model J 4spd. Fully loaded, everything still works except rear window defroster....For fear of being ostracised, I am not posting engine pics/info...

My dad bought this car in 84' and we have owned it ever since...I learned to drive stick in it and got my license in it....It was restored back in '90 so its got a few scratches/flaws/bubbles in it now but its still pretty clean for the most part..... A great driving car... My ole man never does anything with it anymore so I go heist it occassionaly and put miles on it/tune ups etc etc...

I like this forum BTW! First GP forum I have found for old GPs.

Why does some of the cars have the marker lignt in the front fender and some dont.
Ive seen them back and forth on j and sj cars.

SJ had the cornering lamps as part of the SJ package

You could order them on any J as well

SJ got 428 or 455 engine, lamp group, auto level control in the years offered, emblems, and what else? (blanking on it help me out here guys...)

Keith, if I remember correctly, the SJ also came with the gauge package (oil pressure and water temp in left pod) and a beefed suspension and safe-t-trak (posi rear end).

FYI, I think its safe to say that all the GP fans on this site want to see these cars no matter what their condition. Probably because we have all seen cars so bad and so far gone that nothing will scare us or shock us. Just knowing some are still being saved and cared for pleases me. Knowing that these cars were used for demolition duty because of the engine set-back still bugs me!

Default 69 Model J family project

!969 Grand Prix Model J has been in the family since new. Started the restoration in Nov 2006. A few bumps along the way, but still working to finish before the end of 2012.
