Default Rebuildable 455 package

Here's a good package deal for someone looking to build a 455.

71 YC 455 from a GrandVille with 66 heads.
72 Intake
6x-4 Heads
17039253 Q-Jet Carb which needs rebuild.

All for $625.

Here's some more detail on the engine. I pulled it from the GrandVille with about 110k miles and ran it in a 77 trans/am for a couple years until it started making a pretty bad knock. Opened it up and found the #2 rod bearing gone and the #1 almost gone. However, I measured the journal and it's still at 2.24 so it should clean up fine at .020 under. I presume the bores are std since it doesn't appear to ever have been rebuilt. I'll refund your money if the crank or block aren't rebuildable at .030 under/over max.

Any questions, just send me a PM or e-mail.

Default Here's the code

I can't really figure out the first digit because the casting isn't very clean.

Default Intake changed to a 71

I had to use the '72 intake so the intake included is now a '71 intake.

I'll also lower the price to $525....

Block is cast B251.

The original YE in one of my '71's was cast the same day.

Default 455

Do you still have the 455? I am in need of a block as mine has cracked. Is your block factory drilled and tapped for four bolt mains?

Default Yes, still have it.

Yes, I still have it and it is drilled and tapped for 4-bolt mains if I'm remembering how that worked correctly. Here are a couple more pics which show the 4 bolt main drilling and tapping for you to see.

Default 455

I am interested in the block n dont need anything else. I would like to make a deal with you. If you could tear it down and take to your closest machine shop and have plugs pulled , degreased, and magged for cracks then i would buy it from u for $400. i saw where you would give money back if i checked for cracks, but the problem is that i bought a block last month n found out it was cracked. Yes i got my money back from the seller, but it cost me $123 for the machine shop bill, and i still have no block. What do you think?

Default Thanks

I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll pass. I'd rather sell it whole.

Will you ship?

I'm interested in the motor but I live in PA just north of Philly and honestly don't feel like driving a 5-600 mile round trip.

Default How quick do you need it?

I don't think I'd ship it, but I have to make a trip to the Wilkes-Barre area with my truck in a month or two. If you could wait that long I could meet you in that area somewhere.

I have a vacation home in the Pocono mountains of PA, about 1/2 hour from Wilkes-Barre. I'd be up for a meet. Hit me up when you're headed that way and hopefully we can work it out. I have nothing but time as I have a running 400 in my Firebird. This motor would be built over time anyway.

Thanks, Greg
