Love the Vac Secondaries.

Did you invite the Owner to join the Registry?

BTW, I'm posting the Time Built in the old Sunfire Red thread.

He wasn't around, but I know of him. He's a local collector/dealer. If I see him again I'll push him this way, but he's probably just going to flip it. The car's been in this area a long time, about 50k miles now.

Quick question. Where the 1/4 panels attach to the filler panel between the deck lid and back window, on our convertibles, are the seams leaded in? Mine were, are and each year I get docked for those seams being smooth. I never think about it until it's to late. I looked for pictures of that area. Seems they are always of the front and interior. THANKS "Bill"!

My unrestored '64 GTO convert Nov '63 Fremont build is smooth, no apparent "seam" between the decklid and rear window.

If I understand correctly, the seam would more or less follow the decklid gap from rear to front, the seam extending the gap up to the trim.

I know I have read years ago that this seam was leaded smooth on the convertibles. I thought that would have been common knowledge for judging.

I zoomed in on the pics I took of the unrestored Sunfire red 'vert and they are also leaded smooth.

There are no seams but any convertible that is driven will have a hair line crack in that area over time. I've had several 4 and 5 convertibles they all did it . I thought I would be smart at one point and put a patch over the seam , all that did was make a bigger mess now I had two cracks one on either side of the patch . Ended up taking the patch off leading the original seam back in and in about a year had another hair line crack .

Picture attached is still in original paint, car has been under garage cover over 40 years 41 k on the car when I bought it and parked it .

Default 50 years old 4-23-2014

My baby turned 50 she arrived at our house three years after my wife and I were married and that was 40 years ago . I've only owned two cars longer , my 56 Thunderbird that I drove to high school and my 67 4 speed post GTO we bought two years before the baby arrived. I've never really named my cars but a couple have picked up nick names which are common , the 56 for example baby bird or just bird , the 67post is just that . A 65 post I bought from the original owner and she called him Neal so that stuck .
In 2005 when I took the 64 to Baltimore for the GTO display in the February show held at the civic center. One of my wife's coworkers asked where I had gone , she replied I was in Baltimore with my Mistress . So I guess if my baby has any name at all it would be " The Mistress " . The Mistress is reserved , very quite and a fine looking lady still, but can show some attitude that will take most by surprise . My hope is when the day comes that I'm no longer able to take care of this lady someone else will fall in love with her and take care of her.

I have just received PHS documentation on another Tri Power 4 speed convertible bringing the total now only to 10 . I'm sure there are more out there but we have advertised in the Pontiac magazines in the past and have received no new registrants. So spread the word we are still looking for the elusive from the factory Tri Power 4 speed GTO convertibles that have survived the past 50 years . For those that have registered your cars would you mind posting pictures of them here .

A couple pictures of mine from this summer . I've always driven it as much as the weather will allow during the summer .
Last year when I bought the Bonneville convertible my intension was to give the 64 a break and the Bonne can take over. That hasn't happened yet but I think it will next summer . The 64 deserves to have a going through and be brought up to the condition this rare a car deserves . More a or less a retirement status. This year she got more of a break than normal with the rain and I just didn't feel like driving it. I drove the 64 Catalina instead but , I think I've driven the GTO more in the past couple weeks than all summer though .

Default a couple of pics

Hi Don,

I hope all is well with you & family. The summer went by in a blink of the eye, I didn't have my Goat out as much as I wanted because of spine surgery, gall bladder removal and finally a kidney stone. Next summer will be better.

Here are a couple of pics:

Well we only picked up one more car this year bringing the total with proper documentation to the grand total of 10 in the registry . I know there has to be more out there . I've sent emails to some proclaimed Tri Power 4 speed cars that have been up for sale but received no replies back . So if anyone knows of any cars that may fit into this registry please point them in this direction. I guess though the relation to production numbers between 64 and 65 is reflected in the registries , 10 in the 64 and 50 in the 65 . In any case it brings to the forefront how rare the born with Tri Power 4 speed cars really are . This past Veterans day I turned down another substantial offer on my car . One of the club members that was there told me I was nuts not to take the money and run. I said not that I couldn't use the money , but would you sell one of the kids ? . I've already sold one of my GTOs that I've regretted ever since , my first one a 67 hardtop . I still have my second one a 67 post coupe and third one the 64 tri power convertible . The others didn't and don't have the sentimental nostalgia . Looking forward to the 2015 car season and playing with the old tin with my family and friends .

So does that 10 include my car or is it 9 listed "plus you are aware of my car"?

Tom V.

I asked years ago not to be included in the registry even though John V has documented it as a legit vehicle.

I'm aware of your car but not included in the registry it was listed but removed as you requested . I'm also aware of a couple others not in the registry that are documented . 10 in the registry . Less than 20 I'm personally aware of with from the factory documentation .
