6567 GTO I'd love a list of names. I've got some of my own, but nothing sticks either.
Spartazoo I sent you an email. Thanks Bill |

Photos for your viewing pleasure. All the photos are great but that front view is AWESOME!

I also have been working on a name for mine. I think that I have it nailed down. I just about have the graphics done. Now I am just trying to decide what color lettering for a silvermist car with Yorktown blue interior.

Thanks
The front rims are changing to the "kidney bean" style for more nostalgia look. |

Bill Killough- Nice car! I saw it too in the Good Guys magazine.
Hey Straight Axle 63. I also hope you decide on running a real Pontiac too in your '63 but, if you decide on using the chevy afterall I don;t think the Pontiac guys will really care. Have you ever heard of Arnie Beswick? He is looked up too with great respect in the Pontiac community and he runs a chevy in his tempest so it shouldn't matter that you do the same. Arnie has his own web site too, you could contact him if you need help installing a chevy in your Pontiac like he has for over 15 years now. If you build it with a chevy and any Pontiac guy gives you a hassle about the motor just say " I am following Arnie Beswicks lead by running a chev in my Pontiac just like he does". How could any Pontiac guy dispute that? Either way, good luck with you project. Those are really cool cars. Steve Barcak www.pontiacheaven.org

Thanks Steve
Maybe you could donate a motor for Beswick to run in his Pontiac. How cool would a hemi headed Pontiac be in a Beswick car. Barcak-Beswick team up, look out. |

Sorry if it sounded sarcastic, just thought it would be cool to put a Pontiac back in Beswick's GTO.

Well, I ordered a pile of parts last night so I guess we'll be starting on it soon.
I ordered the straight axle kit, brake/steering kit, coilovers, ladder bars, cheater slicks, Radir tri rib 15x4 front wheels, set of 560/15 US Royal front tires with a 1"w.w., panhard bars, Muncie m-21 close ratio, and I bought a 69 Camaro 12 bolt posi with 4:11's. As soon as I get the rear mounted I will order a set of black powder coated steel wheels from Paulson for the back. Oh... and a front crossmember/motor mount. Sorry to disapoint but it looks like I will be following Arnie Beswicks lead after all. It's enough to keep us busy for a little while. |

We have a sbc .406 almost built that is going in a 52 GMC. It will be awhile before I get to building an engine for the 63. I can use the .406 for mock up and weight for getting the stance right. It's what makes the most sense right now. |

Straight'...the smallblock isn't going to help you at all for mock up. It might be close in weight, but that's where the similarities end. If you're going to drop a Pontiac in it, get a block now so you can at least mock up your mounts. Even a tunnel rammed Pontiac will get more attention in that car than any SBC could ever dream of (unless it were a blown and alky injected SBC, and it would have to be a pretty hot running one at that).

You are probably safer with the SBC engine. If you go too fast with the front end up as high as that other straight axle 63 Tempest you could end up on your roof.
I have seen in person what happens to cars that get air under the front end at speed. |
