Thumbs up

looking good! can't wait to see it at Norwalk! i take it they don't plan on having the hood louvered like the original one was? maybe that's why Tom said the original hood would need re-skinned? also noticed the 63 SD wagon in the background, in the shop for some work?

I was told it was there so they could duplicate the radiator brackets. It was probably there to make sure all the little details were made.

It would be interesting to find out where the 2nd body went that Tiemann bought from Ken Krist(sp)? I was also told originally the alum front end was 10k, but after the ebay auction it went to 25k.

Well i guess finding the car for the front end would increase the value of the front end but only to the person who bought the car. I don't see it being worth 25K to anyone else

I believe the front end went to 40K!John would have spent 25 I think.Im sure Scott would tell you if you asked where the other car went.As Greg said this car was not in bad condition just missing a bunch of stuff and was better to take off another "good" car instead of looking for single pieces.I think a lot of front end steering stuff was used.Tom

So the 2nd car that was bought, stripped down to a bare shell than all the rest of the parts returned to the seller is being used for another project than?

I'm not saying that, and i'm not trying to step on any toes, it's just that it's already been brought a few times on here with no furthur info. I'm sure he would tell some stranger over the phone he was rebodying a super rare race car. Not like its been done before , like a certain 62 GP SD.

Bill, there has been many people on this board that have been over to the shop while being done. The car as im told by people that saw the car in person was in pretty good shape but did need replacement parts.Rats had built nests in the car for years. As im told some floor panels and other parts were cut from Kens car and welded into original car compared to Gartzmans car(the car you refered to)which was a total rust bucket. This car had been garaged for years.Greg saw the car before it was sold.Kens car im sure was scraped when everything they needed was removed.Tom
