Default "Is this right" questions

Should the heater house to pump go close to the exhaust or past the a arm?

Is the lower rad hose on correct?

Does the heater house to block loop up over the other hose? Why would they send me sick a long piece? Is the ground strap correct?

Is the top rad hose correct? It seems like the alt bracket is hitting.

What go on these two vacuum locations?

you are missing the bracket that goes to the front of the pass head for the heater hose. That hose should be a lot shorter.Tom

I think the adjusting arm on that alt goes to the timing cover allowing the alt to go lower and toward the timing cover.Tom

yes you need a bracket for the hose, it bolts to front of the passenger head. The alt bracket has 2 pieces one to the thermostat housing and one to a bolt on the water pump / timing cover. I believe there should be a nipple on the back of the passenger head for a hose from or to the heater core. This pic shows the 3 brackets...

If you have a.i.r., the alt bracket is attached to the a.i.r. bracket. There isn't a separate bracket going to the water neck. The a.I.r. Pump does use one of the neck bolts to mount to.

I need to get that bracket for the front of the head for the heater hose.

1968 Firebirds did not use that bracket. Oddly, '67 and '69 did. For '68 there is a clip that mounts in a square hole on the passenger inner fender that the hose goes through. You just need to make sure your hose is the right length so I doesn't rub on the A-arm. Below are some links to FGF threads discussing this, including some really good detail pictures. There are also some good shots of the correct alternator bracket setup.

Exclamation

Hi Jason. I used a 68 GTO heater hose for the rear hose from the head to the core. I had to trim off a few inches, but the fit looked a lot better than a regular piece of hose, all looped over. Even if it is, I never thought that looked "right".

So the 67 had the head bracket only? Nothing on the inner fender?

Is this regulator installed in the right holes? Were they held in by these type of regular screws? Was the condenser held on by the one of three screws? Share did the ground go to? Thx

Should be mounted on the right side bolt.
