Default Clutch engagement

How high up should a properly adjusted clutch engage on a 68 GTO ? M20 trans , new Hayes flywheel clutch and pressure plate , everything else is new . This is my 1st one of these cars , so I just do t know what to compare it to . Mines seems a bit high - more towards the top like an inch or two .

Use the adjusting rod to put it where you want.

The minimum free play required allows the clutch to spin without contacting and spinning the throwout bearing. If the bearing constantly turns it will wear out prematurely.
