The motor I had in my Firebird was a Chev 250 straight 6, So I assume just change the cone on the starter it should fit the OHC?

I'm not a starter expert but think you should be good.

I used a Buick 455 starter with an OHC nose cone on mine. 90% of GM starter motors between at least the mid-60's to late 80's are the same dimensions with the nose cones being the difference. Big block starters tend to have more windings in them for more torque. So theoretically the starter doesn't have to work very hard to crank the engine over.

Doubtful. Be careful that many/most of these type companies list products for the OHC when they are all just Chevy 6 crap.

This is another way to simplify the ignition.
Install this in the Dist and be done with points.

I bought the starter form Jeff and it wont fit because of the depth, Jeff and I have been e-mailing back and forth trying to figure it out. we're both stumped, figuring the bellhousing but that don't make sense, I don't want have to pull the motor out. Unless I go with a gear reduction starter for 200.00 some odd dollars. Anyone else have any idea's?
