Default Remote tranny cooler with fan

Have any of you used a transmission cooler with a built in fan mounted under the car? I'm getting ready to increase the load on my 2004r with a new 455 built by Mr. P body, and I dont want to mount an additional cooler in front of my AC condensor, but I would like more transmission cooling capacity. I'm presently running a deep pan on the tranny,as well as synthetic ATF. I have a Griffin 1 1/4 inch tube dual core radiator that works very well. The transmission works very well, but cost quite a bit, and I want to protect it as much as possible. (CPT extreme duty (non lock up)with 10 inch convertor). Engine runs a little cooler without a big tranny cooler in front of the condensor, so I wanted to mount it in a remote area. Being a wagon, I could even mount it toward the back of the car.

Arrow Put it in front.........

Faced w/ the same issue in my 66 Goat w/ Vintage Air & 700R4, I mounted a B & M Supercooler on the driver's side of my radiator core and spaced as far forward as it will go and still clear the backside of the grill. In that position, the cooler has about a 1" air gap behind it to allow the air to flow thru. It has been mounted there for the past 5 years of touring, racing, and driving around the hood. I considered using one of the cooler/fan packages, but I'm concerned about road debris damaging the unit and you wouldn't know until you saw the smoke .

Did you use hard line or hose? You are right about the road debris, didnt think of that. The one I had before was mounted right to the condensor-didnt like that set up, might try farther forward-would be simpler too.

Here is a photo of where I mounted mine. I have about 1" clearance between the back of the grill. If I was doing it again, I wouldn't have put it there. I can't get the grill out with it there, so it is a pain to get at bolts for the bumper, had to remove valance.

I used 3/8" hydraulic hose from the tranny hard lines to the cooler.
