Nick, what is your FB page?

I have some questions about your trans install. Doing my 462 swap right now and thinking of going to a Richmond Super Street 5 spd. Which ratio set did you go with?

I'm on the fence between the 2.89 first and the 3.06 first gear. Looks like all other ratios are the same regardless of which of the three first gear ratios you pick.

Obviously the next question is what rear gear did you decide to use. I think I want to go with a 3.70ish ratio which should work well with the .77 OD.

Just looking for input.

*****bucket is a ****ty site. I have hated it for sometime. When I started my build thread many years ago I was using my ISP to host pics until the business was bought/sold several time and the final company made it tough to take my $$. Then I switched to ****bucket, and now all my photos are held hostage over there. My virus protection has a fit when I sign on to that site.

Unfortunately it’s temporary. They’ve now dropped the annual hosting fee from $399 to $1.99/mo or $19.99/yr, so I guess that’s progress...

They’re giving a free teaser period to entice folks to sign-up for the new plan.

Hi Nick,

Just wondering what your experience has been like so far with the solid body mounts? I have the rubber set that OPG sells and I am not all that impressed with the quality, so thinking of using poly, or a solid mount.

On my firebird I used the GW interlock mounts and they worked great. I never noticed an increase in NVH at all when on street tires.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Cheers!

Hey there RamAir. The body mounts from ABC were pricey but well constructed. The 2 reasons I bought them were because....

-Our repop rubber for these cars is known trash that dry rots fast and I dont like doing things like that twice if I can avoid it

-It's supposed to help with handling more than one would expect.

I purchased Savitske Classic and Customs little $40.00 rubber isolater kit as well. Just a thin tough rubber gasket that goes in there and kills NVH. I've had 0 issues with mine being squeaky or noisy. I can't honestly say if they transmit any road nvh but they seem not to. I'm 100% happy with them outside of the cost but what are you gonna do. Theres no other real option unless you want to find a lathe and turn your own out of Delrin or make your own aluminum pieces. UMI performance has said it's on their list of things to make so if you're waiting, maybe contact them to see if it can be done cheaper? Just remember Pontiacs have an extra mount in front as opposed to Chevelles

Thanks Nick, appreciate the info. I have messaged UMI to see what’s up and will follow up if they have anything available.

Well, while I'm here, I should update a bit.... I've gotten the forged 433 312cfm e heads, t2, sft cam running and it's a street friendly monster. Man does that engine pull. I also added a T56 Magnum from Silversport Transmissions last winter. A link the install thread is here...

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...49#post5836749

Also added a Wizard cooling brushless fan/radiator combo, mighty mouse evacuation system, RE71 tires and done some racing. If anyone is actually interested, I can certianly bring this thread back to life but I'm honestly not going to waste my time if no one really cares.

I'm interested in updates for sure. Curious about both the fan/radiator combo and your vacuum set-up. I'm getting to the point in one of my projects where these things are relevant.

Nick,
I'm interested. Thanks for feedback last year. Just finishing chassis and motor is done. I will start a thread on it as well.

Nick - My forged 434 shortblock is on the stand now and the ancillary bits and pieces are en route from Butler as of today. I don't wish to add to your work, but your efforts so far have been very helpful and encouraging for my project. They're appreciated!

Nick,
I've read a boatload of your posts and threads and hope you continue to share your experience with your '67!
You do a ton of things to the A-body that I would like to do as well and anybody that can road race and drag race in the same car really well has more experience than most on these forums !
