I have recently replaced a 326 with a 400. Information has it that the oil pan was universal for all v-8 from 64 to about 70. This seems to be true except that gasketing kits that we have don't seem to match up.
Anyone have any way of clearing this up outside of buying a new pan. |

I was told the same thing that they would swap out no problem. I would be interested in know as well since I will be swapping my 326 for a 400, and use the oil pan and timing cover from the 326.
My other life has meaning....

I recently took the oil pan from my original 1967 326 and put it on my 1968 400, the gasket kit had both types or rear pan seals included for both early and later type designs.
