Default 69' Firebird engine code question

I'm looking a 69' Firebird Convertible for sale that has a 350 engine with a XC engine code. My question is what heads and intake should be on this engine. It currently has casting number 48 heads, log style exhaust manifolds and a factory cast iron intake with a quadrajet. Could this be a 350 HO with that engine code?

So unless i'm off here... which happens... XC is probably a 1978 350. That would have ad 6X or 6S heads. 48 heads are nice on a 350. You are correct that they were HO heads but for a 69'. So my guess is that you do have a "350HO" but not an original one. Of course you don't know what has been done to the heads or what cam you are running? Nice set up on a 350 and very common to see those smog era 350s set up with older heads and a 4bbl.

Thanks John, I had scene on another site that a XC was listed as a 290 HP engine in 69'. That's what had me confused.

The XC didn't have long branch manifolds in 69.
