Default factory AC owners, what ignition are you using?

Anyone thats fiddled with the distributor, fighting that compressor bracket,
will realize its a cruel joke. Its actually quicker to move the bracket for distributor access.
Whos running something other than points,ie Pertronix, Mallory ,TI,etc?

I am still running points, but with a vintage Mark 10 Capacitive discharge ignition system. It seems to extend the life of the points quite a bit.

Here is one on Ebay, Just so you can see what it is. I carry a NOS spare just in case.

I had a Heathkit (build it yourself) version of the Mark 10 CDI that I built in the 70s on a '65 Chevelle, moved to a '77 Honda Accord that went 200,000+ miles and was later installed in my 347 Pontiac powered '57 GMC truck. The only reason I had to replace the points in any of these vehicles was that the rubbing block would wear down enough that there was not enough adjustment left to get a proper point gap. Good part.

Dad also built a Heathkit one for our 63 GP and ran it until the car was traded around 68.
I currently have a pertronix in my AC 67 Sprint.

Got an old Mallory hidden under the wiper cowl. Long discontinued, I bet I bought it in the mid 80's?

I ran the Mallory in my 68 Firebird 400 for years
It did refuse to start one afternoon at work.
Got a ride home and brought back a spare control module
and it was running again.
I ll look for it for spares for you, took it off when I sold car.
