Question Ideas for hidden shift light?

Don't really trust the factory tach in my 70 T/A, but don't wanna upgrade to an aftermarket tach since she's pretty much all original

In my other cars I ran hidden shift lights either in the vents or within the cluster itself

In my 98 T/A, I have one stuffed in the mirror vent

(skip to 6::45 mark in this video)

And in my 69 Road Runner, I have an LED strip light around the main cluster (way too bright though)

Looking for ideas of where to mount one on this car so that it's completely invisible

I used this rpm switch to light up the BRAKE light on the gauge cluster.

70 GTO. It's plenty bright in daylight to catch it with your peripheral vision.

I like this idea

My brake light is actually pretty bright even in the day

DId you use a relay and/or diode or just wire it directly to the RPM switch?

I wired it direct. If I recall correctly, it provides the ground for that circuit (same as the park brake switch and differential pressure switch).

If it's anything like the one I used on my Road Runner, it should have an option to switch from normally closed to normally open circuit

Mine's in the top of the cluster, near the high beam indicator.

When the "TGate Ajar" light comes on: SHIFT!!

I put mine where the clock was. I know you'd rather have a more stealth look so as an idea, what about just a face for a light instead of seeing the LEDs that looks like the stock clock but lights up?

Great idea especially since the clock never works anyway.
