I think the stance of my 65 Lemans is just about perfect.

Very nice car! Really like the wheels and tires, look just right. Can you tell us the wheel and tire sizes, and would you do it any different.

With the thread being resurrected, I thought I should update my stance.

Instead of 235/60 front and 255/60 rears, I'm now running 17's - 215/55 front and 245/50 rears.

Still with the same custom made rear springs, but now with adjustable Koni Coilovers in front with Global West tubular A arms.

I don't like the 4x4 look of seeing air space between the top of the tire and the wheel well - like what happens when you have too short a tire or too much spring.

The front factory springs were obviously going to be too much on my car with the wheels I chose. Even with no weight on the front end it was just bivouac that it wasn’t gonna look right. The back looks ok for now and I put the hotchkis springs back in the front. It looks like it’s gonna be ok but time will tell. If it’s too high in the back with the stock springs after everything is complete I will order the hotchkis for the back to match. I wish I had the money for adjustable coil overs on all four corners but I am spending so much as it is that I can’t justify it right now

17x8 Year one wheels
front 225/50/17
rear 255/50/17

That is max for this car.

I would like to say that everybody has a different opinion on what they like.
If your car makes you smile that's the stance for you.

Those are some pretty good sizes for a GTO. I would have liked a 255/50 for the rear of mine, but that size wasn't an option with my tire selection (
Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06).

My grandson worked for Continental at the time and I was able to get his employee discount (about $375.00 for all four).

I finally got a picture that shows off the stance of my car well. Unfortunately, it was from across the street with a cell phone camera.

Footjoy, what brand are the redlines on your car? Looking for something similar to my 66 Hardtop.

In case footjoy doesn't see this...

He's running 17's - so I'm guessing they are DiamondBacks ( dbtires.com ).

I'm not aware of anyone else that offers redlines in 17" or larger diameters.
