Default Light for ash tray or what?

Can someone tell me what this is used for; I’m thinking ash tray or ignition switch? Thought it was fiber optic but appears it has a hot wire attached.
Thanks

I thought the cigarette lighter lamp has a grey wire that attaches to the top of the retainer housing because I have one hanging under the dash now with a lamp in the socket.
Thanks

Default 72 gto cigar lighter

Thanks Dave I have a grey wire too hooked up to the lighter but no holder on it like yours. Mine seems to hook up with a small piece of metal that is attached to the bulb holder with a regular light bulb not enclosed like yours.
I have no idea what this other wire is then.

Default Fiber optic light ash tray

Can someone tell me on my 72 GTO the fiber optic cable that runs from the ash tray to one of the light pods on the gauges which one should I use? I just bought the cable but can’t get it to work; what I’m I doing wrong? A picture will help of the back side of the gauges.
I removed 1 of the black light plugs and put the light bulb in that pod but nothing happens. Does it need to be grounded.?
Thanks
