Default door tag info

My 70 gto was made in Canada (Oshawa 1) but then sent to a dealer in maine to sell so it was not sold in Canada.. Would my original driver door sticker have said made in Canada or not? Thanks

It most likely would.
The wording kind of plays up to that being a scenario where the bases would be covered.

ive seen the metal cowl tags that say made in Canada stamped at the top of them but mine doesn't. Just says conforms to US/federal etc. Weird that it would say Canada on the door sticker but not on the cowl tag?

This is the cowl tag from same car as the door sticker i posted.

Only the earliest 70 cars have the big CANADA stamping on cowl tags - August 69 and maybe some September 69 units.

Correct, MADE IN CANADA on trim tags was a carryover from the '69s. I think they decided they didn't need it as the conformance decal had MADE IN CANADA on it. 2nd or 3rd week of Sept. is when it should have been dropped.

"MADE IN CANADA" on my 70 data plate with a build date of 8D and no Made in Canada on my 70 with a build date of 10E; supports what BVZ and HFR noted.

Both have various RPO codes stamped on their respective data plate.

Scott, I have the same condition or car build history

I bought this repo door vin sticker
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-76-GM-...AAAOSw-NFaoY71

Tried to type using a standard typewriter and could not and it would not hold ink

This is the only one I could find that i could type vin numbers on

https://secure.amesperf.com/qilan/De...A&web_access=Y

supposed the correct blue decal although its really greenish

The one above thats Carolina Blue is a kinda plastic type decal and I couldn't find a way to type on it, Maybe someone has a method that works?

I'm having A1 judge make me a Canadian build blue door sticker. He also puts the VIN # and build date.
