Agreed but some companies exploit it...I have personal examples but will reserve comment....

Safety re-certs are the 2nd most expensive on-going expense for running a nitro car. Seat belts, chassis, trans blanket, fire suit, gloves, shoes, diaper and straps, blower restraint, fire system, gloves, bellhousing, clutch, discs, all have to kept up to date and checked, and re-certified at various intervals. Eric has an Excell spreadsheet to keep up with all the moving pieces. FYI, if using any type of dry powder fire agent in the race car or even in your home or shop, DO NOT assume it will work in a fire if the gauge is pointing to the green Good zone. The powder settles down and packs tight in the canisters over time and will NOT discharge when you need it most. (Ask us how we know!). They need to be checked/replaced at regular intervals. Be safe.

I agree Scott safety has become big business and some play on your fears .I do what I feel is safe for me I started wearing Hans device .I have to honest I don't like it.. I am already to big inside my car .Going to gym to get in better shape so if I ever had to get out of my car quickly I could .. Plus I am turning 60 in the new year not as fast as I was at 20 ..lol I will race til I can't so being in shape is a safety asset.
