Default Nitrous Install Questions

Looking to install a Nitrous puck system in my 73 bird. I have never have used nitrous before so I am looking for any tips , tricks info. I am running the puck system as it will fit under my formula hood. No real reason to hide it. looking for about 200 hp. Solid bottom end with aluminum heads and about 10.3 compression. Watched several videos and have the general information. Working on the fuel system now but will is mostly in place. 1/2 line from the tank to the carb with a RobbMC 1100hp mechanical pump. Just need to get the regulator set correctly.

1. So spark splug type and what to drop the plug down to as far a heat range
2. Safety minimum requirements...
3. Will try to tie this into my MSD6AL-2 programmable box-researching that now.

Please feel free to express your thoughts...also on launching. For me typically with drag radials I can get out clean..currently the car ran a best of 11.9 street shape.

For me its a hood clearance issue, this solves it.

Your 6al-2 programmable box will do what you need... there is PC based software for programming it for nitrous retard...
What type of fuel system do you have?

I would say all you need to do is split the line and add a regulator for the nitrous... pull 5 deg. To start and spray it...
A 200 hit doesn't require many changes... that pump is plenty for what you're after...
I ran a 200 hit on a 400 with a holly electric pump at the tank..... it fueled the engine and nitrous system.

no you dont have to purge. purging can adjust the bottle pressure and it eliminates any air in the line before you use it

You could use a Ngk R5671-8 or -9 plug.
