Default seat belt warning light

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there was a hard change over in 72 to speedos with the seat beat warning light or did this change come in sometime later? The attached pic is claimed to be from a 68k original mile 72 gto.

Thanks!

Wouldn't surprise me to see a few cars built in the last weeks of December to have it. I suppose it would depend on when the existing stock of the non seat belt warning speedometers in each factory ran out. But definitely none after Jan 1.

Body builds of 2nd & 3rd week of Dec is what I've been running across for changeover to seatbelt warning on A & GP's. None of them have been anything special.

Thanks Guys, this car was built fifth week of November (11E) so that jives with what you are saying.

Op is showing a photo of his 72 speedometer which does not have the seat belt warning light. Wanted to know the general date that the speedometers with the light were installed

I believe they also switched to a black rear view mirror around the same time.
