Thumbs up

Someone on PY certainly has a copy or two of the GM Warranty and/or Repair Bulletins for the mismatching paint problem.
IIRC it was also mentioned in the book(s) FIREBIRD! or THE FABULOUS FIREBIRD?

Ours too was ordered with the "radio preparation pkg" which came with the radio delete plate from the factory without a factory radio.

Cool score on the Supertuner - those were the state of art sound systems back then.

Take a look at the top right Black & White photo on page 139, The Fabulous Firebird, and in my minds eye that has always been a Martini Blue T/A 6.6...noted the t-tops which would make yours a perfect match to that "..wet traction.." T/A IMO.

Cool!

Edit: see Fab Firebird pg.s 132 & 138 text
"The gold Special Edition turned out to be something of a headache for Pontiac's production people and, in some cases, for dealers. The gold paint, it seems, could never be applied consistently. GM's Van Nuys plant had to use water-based paint, whose color and luster were slightly different from the acrylic lacquer at the Norwood plant. Color matching after an accident also proved tougher than usual with gold Trans Am Special Editions." This was the same issue when new with our Martinique Blue Metallic Van Nuys painted 1978 T/A.

Thumbs up Here's a "twist"......

Seems like about 95 percent of Martinique Blue 78's came with light blue interior....

This one is different & I like it!

I agree with you about the light blue interior. Mine had the black deluxe vinyl which really provided a nice contrast.

Cool

How about any other color interiors - besides blue & camel - anyone?

Been a long time since I've seen one with a black interior too.

Mine was black. I saw one a few years ago at the Nats with a white and blue interior.

I'm currently bringing my '78 Formula back to life - bought it new back then. It's a Marty with deluxe white vinyl interior.

No idea about the blue decals, but the car was original paint when I bought it and I was the second owner. The rear decal was original
It had deluxe tan vinyl interior, much better than baby blue.
