Default Ugh! Think I screwed up my rings

Asleep at the wheel. I was knocking down the corners of my rings and ran a small bevel on the outside edge, not just the corners. Afraid I’ll get too much blow by now.
What do you say, yea or nay?
I’ll gladly invest in another set if needed.

That’s ok.
The thing to not do when rounding over sharp edges with a moly face ring is to run whatever your abrasive tool is back & forth, as that done on the face of the ring can flake off the moly.
You want to only make you passes by pushing in to do the rounding off.

Yeah, the top ring is moly, so made sure not to run the file out while filing, just in.
Won’t I lose compression by that bevel, or just not enough to matter?

How’s the top and second ring to piston back clearance?

They should not duck into the groove by more then .005”

Guys run big ring end gaps all the time with more materiel missing. Engine does not know the difference.
You won't lose a thing.

OK. Went through all the rings and found the one I thought looked the worst, then squared it in the cylinder. This is what it looks like. Obviously some of that is the rounded off corners, but you can see the metal of the cylinder where the bevel is.
I figured only a few thousands was going to be exposed between the piston and cylinder wall, and that’s exactly where the bevel will be of course.
Still OK?

Your still good like that, it will not make a bit of difference when the motor is up to temp .
