Default Radiator cushions

Car is a 79 TA with 403. The radiator is the original 3 core. I was working on reinstalling the radiator, but not sure about the cushions. Below is a photo of the only ones I have for it. I don't remember there being others when I took it apart. These cushions have to go on the top, to hold the top of the radiator from being loose and keep it tight to the shroud. The bottom of the radiator sits inside the bottom of the shroud. It seems like there should be bottom cushions too, but there doesn't look to be much room for any, unless they were very thin.

My question is for those of you with cars like mine. Are you using lower cushions? What do they look like?
Did you buy new ones that fit well, and if so, from where? Thanks!

Yes those are the ones used on the top and bottom of the radiator to cushion it from damage. A must to use.

My 78 had larger ones on the top from the factory, the rad would move fwd/back, Ames had the correct ones, I replaced the top w/the smaller size. The tops had a nipple to pull up into the shroud, at least on 78's. So it would hold it in place while installing.they must have been a 4 row. I still have them.

I ended up robbing 2 more cushions, that are like the other ones in the photo, from one of my other project cars, so I would have 4. The fit wasn't as tight as I imagined it would be with cushions on top and bottom. It was actually a nice fit.

When I was thinking I might have to buy some new cushions, I was looking on the internet and noticed that they all had wider openings for 4 core radiators. Good to know that Ames has the 3 core size. Thanks!

The radiator cushions with locating pics are usually chev style without shroud. Not sure what you are pushing them into on a 400, or 403? The repros are a combination of both styles and need trimming off rather than produce 2 types.

My 78 never had any with "****", just 4 like that that slide into the shroud.

Now my 79 Camaro has "****" on the ones for it.

No I used the 3 letter word starting with a T. Maybe being a vet I can use the animal science term"teat". Like worthless as on a boar hog.

Here is the top on the 81s shroud can not get a good picture on the bottom but same slot down there it fits in.

Gosh maybe "bottom" is banned too
