Default 1965 Bonneville lower control arm issue

Hi friends ..I need your help.
I’m just working at my newer project, 65 Bonneville convertible.
I sandblasted the control arms .. new bushings and new lower ball joins.
It’s an early 65 with the welded plate at lower ball joins..
somebody already did a replacing job in the late 70’s .. he cut out the plate and replaced the ball joins ..doesn’t welded the plate in place.
I just replaced the ball joins this way too. The plate isn’t there anymore ..can I use it as is ?
Don’t like to look for 66 control arms ..

Can I use it like it is or is it not save ?
I’m confused what to do know ..

Two pics ..first is like mine are now ...
Second pic shows my other 65 Coupe with the welded plate .. early 65 too. But this plate is missing at my convertible lower control arm
