Something worked right today. 180 miles of pure driving excitement with NO problems!
Running 75 on the interstate with this old car just begging for me to put the right foot down. Which I did a couple of times just for glee! Damn it feels good to be back in this car. Had a hard time getting used to the "calibrated" temp gauge never getting over 180. Mama even turned around to look in the back seat and say "OK, you kids be quite back there"! Charles |

coast
arrived back this evening...what a long weekend. Cruised around 150miles or so in the 69, thru Waveland, Bay St. Louis, and Biloxi. Someone said there were 6000 cars registered for the cruise! There were probably just as many that were not registered! Everything imaginable rolling on that stretch of highway.

Final #'s: 6169 registered vehicles! The previous record was 5494.
What a fun trip. Thirty four miles of cruising vehicles of every type imaginable! http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Bay+St+Louis,+MS&daddr=Ocean+Springs,+M S&hl=en&sll=30.360195,-89.080455&sspn=0.420067,0.609055&geocode=FS5szgEdt uGs-ikTxNicyy2ciDEsNXwwQ4dD7Q%3BFS4K0AEdYpi0-imLaf1VCIubiDHyAY_2XCVpQg&oq=Ocean+Springs,+ms.&mr a=prev&t=m&z=11 We put 250 miles on the GTO at the event. Crusin is what it's all about. Best fun for me was riding as my youngest son Steven was driving and enjoying it. 600 miles on the car overall. Very well organized and safety paramount. Everyone was there to have fun and very friendly and cooperative. I never heard a cross word from anyone. This was my first trip, but I dare say I will be going next year also. I saw many very nice Pontiac's and tried to speak with every owner. We need to get an organized group of PYers together for next year. This just has to be the largest car show on the planet! http://www.cruisinthecoast.com/ WOW! Charles Last edited by Old Goat 67; 10-15-2012 at 07:01 AM. |

Hey Charles, Someone told me that there were pictures of my GTO at Cruisin The Coast last October in the Events Forum. My GTO is in the last two pictures you took. The first one is at Edgewater Mall. I was parked next to the Gold 66 GTO Convertible. I think I parked next to this same car at Edgewater two years ago! I think it is one Terry Wallace from New Orleans restored. It is a beautiful 66 GTO Convertible. The last pic you took is my wife and I cruising through Ocean Springs. Cool picture. Thanks! Attached is a pic of where I parked twice in two days at Ocean Springs. It was on the cross street just inside the entrance where you get your card stamped. As for Cruisin The Coast, we have been going since 2002. WOW is right! Funny thing is that everything is so much better now a few years after Katrina. It sure wasn't the first few years after. The devastation was heartbreaking. It just keeps getting better every year. By the way, your car looks great! Jim

Jim,
You guys going again? Where are you staying if so? Would love to get together! BTW, that is me talking to my wife beside my Border Collie with my 67 parked across the street. We got to that spot at 5 AM. We are with my son's truck club from La. Charles |

Hey Charles,
I didn't notice the nose of your 67 in the Ocean Springs pic. Now I have to go back thorugh all my pics and look at what cars are in them. You had a great spot to watch all the classic cars driving by. That is a part of CTC we really enjoy. Cars are driven everywhere and events all over the place. What a great time. Not sure of our plans yet. Sent you a PM. Jim

IF I can save up the money I'd sure like to go this year. But... gas prices will be the kicker on a go or no go for me.
