rocky, I like the yellow ladder bars, I had those on my 74 in the mid 80's.
Sure are quite a few black 76 455 TA's out there.

JAY!!!! Congrats dude!!!! on The HPP cover. I saw the last page of the current HPP with the front fender of the Blue 74 with the Wide Ovals and I was wondering if that was your car. I guess I was right.

Dude that is just fantastic.....One for the White "Y" Trash Guys!

As far as pics here is my 78 and a pic of my 74 not long after I got it home and cleaned the mold off of it. It is mainly in pieces now. Hopefully the subframe and other components will be going off to the powder coaters soon. And paint and body maybe next year...whenever time allows.

I just got my copy this evening in the mail. I will be hitting Barnes and Noble this weekend for extras.

Wish I had it in the 12's for the article, but it will come soon.....

Feels weird to see my car in a Magazine..but a good weird...I thought Cliffs stuff was cool too..he helped me so much with my combo and tech questions.

Thanks Jim. I thought that your car looked great also. That blue was really popping as the rain neared. Hopefully next year will be sunshine all afternoon. I'm tired of driving home in the rain (six hours drive, 3 1/2 in the rain).

Congrats on the HPP cover and article, Jay!! Got my copy yesterday. What an honor! Great story. It's really something special to still have the same car that I'm sure has given so many great memories from your youth. I'm sure that there are lots of stories that your car would tell if it could. Cudos also to Rocky Rotella for another excellent article.

Thanks,

You are right. There was a short time there after HS that the car was all fun/girls. Even for an 11 yr old TA....it could still pull in the hunnies..

After that it was nothing but a drain on my wallet. When I parked it in the early 90's I felt like I had pushed/towed the car further than it had carried me.If it ran at the time I cant say that I would still have it today!!

Luckily..thru CVMS I actually have a dependable piece that has yet to make me push it.Finding a Pontiac specific machine shop was a key that I simply overlooked in the early 90's.

This article was a great way to put the headaches behind me. I just heard that I am also in the new Hot Rod Issue from Martin Michigan...WOW..

Thanks Again..

Jay, I just went out looking for a copy yesterday thinking that it was about that time. Couldn't find this month's copy or any other for that matter.
I hope when you grab some copies you get enough for me to buy one from you. I'm afraid I may not be able to find one here.
HPP has just gotten absolutely impossible to find around here with any frequency.
Here's an old pic of mine right after I refinished the wheels. No new pics. Heck, I think I only drove it once all summer...Now, summer's over.

LOL. A new mandate for all of us. Take new pictures to update our files. :O)

Some sweet looking rides have been posted so far. I know there are some lurkers out there who haven't posted anything yet. Jim Rotella knows one of them (hint, hint, Rocky).

Greg,

The rallys look good!! I am actually painting a set now for racing. They are about 6 pounds lighter each than the honeycombs. Much cheaper too...I am retiring the Honeys to shows. I found some period correct tires for them in great shape.

Nicole and I just picked up a Hot Rod at the local QT with the FAST/FS story. I had a pic in it with my YO decal for the contingency $. As far as HPP your best bet is a Barnes and Noble it is a for sure trip. All of them on the north side will get them Monday UPS. You may want to check out the southside or the city. Each one only orders 5 copies. Every once and awhile I have found it at Kroger or Publix but only occasionally.

I have just bugged them to death at B and N up this way....

I'm down here in the sticks. The Barnes and Nobles and the Borders that I go to never even heard of HPP. Every time I find one it's at a grocery store or Wal Mart. I got one in the Wal Mart in Peachtree City a couple of weeks ago so I stopped by yesterday to see if your issue was in. There weren't any issues. Now I'm thinking if they come out tomorrow, it was probably sold out or just off the shelf for the new issues. I'll try them next weekend.
Looking forward to it!

Chris, I'll get right on taking those pics.

If this works, the first pic is of my 75 when I bought it 5 years ago. The second was at the track 3 years ago, a work in progress. It's entirely in pieces now for a rebuild.

Awful pretty '74 there. Is that the original paint code or a modern mix? Looks brighter than most Admiralty cars I've seen.

Thanks for the compliment . It was repainted 11 years ago in my cousin's home garage in Montreal. You are right, it is slightly brighter than stock, but the paint and bodywork were free, so I wasn't about to complain

Mine arrived in the mail today (been a subscriber for years). Very cool article - must be rewarding to see your car like that, congratulations!

It looks like 79 Nocturne Blue (code 29)
The color really suits the car!
