Default 119 original miles

Not bad for a 76.

Not all that desirable either, even with 119 miles on it. 1000.00 is a good price but not much more even with the very low miles. Not many Ventura collectors out there.... so they'd be the ones that will jack the price up.

I'd buy it for an everyday driver but that's all.

Default Schweet...

And wouldn't that be the sleeper of the century with a 455 swapped in?

Agree with Bob on this one. I would rock that thing all day long with a 455!

There hasn't been a single bid on the car yet - and the $1,000 is just their request for a starting bid. "Reserve Not Met" - means that an opening bid of $1000.00 won't buy it.

I'd actually have serious interest in this car if it didn't have a unrealistic reserve. My first new car was a 1976 2Dr Ventura.

Yes, I drop a 455 in it and paint it yellow, put black striping on it and find some slotted dish mags...

No bids yet don't mean a thing and yes reserve slows bidding for sure. I might go take a look at the car but will try to contact seller to get more info.

That and the vinyl top.

But if I'm repainting it (and I would) those things don't matter...

Repaint it? What, yellow and have to redo the interior as well?
It's just quirky enough to be cool.

I'd probably pull the original seats out (most likely a split bench) and put some modern black bucket leather seats in it and then reupholster the back seat to match. Custom door panels to boot...

Once I drop a 455 in it - originality doesn't matter...

Molding is ugly but it's cool that it has the Pontiac arrow in the molding. For that reason alone, I would leave it.

Originality would not be a major concern of mine in this car but such a shame to do all the paint and interior work to a car with only 119 miles. Way too cool as is, well except the power plant.

That arrowhead is neat. But the molding is one of the ugliest I've ever seen. After looking at it closeup - I noticed the hood ornament too.

Another reason for me to "clone" it into my first car.

If I knew the reserve was reasonable - I'd probably pursue this car. You'd never find a better start to the project. But I'm thinking these folks have a skyhigh reserve on it.

My guess is an unrealistic reserve as well.

So you don't think the paint and upholstery is factory?

It's unlikely. It's an estate sale, they're raising cash. Any competent probate attorney would have had the vehicle appraised and set the reserve close to that. I don't see it as a particularly desirable car, do you? I mean, we all think it's cool because we're Pontiac fans, but Joe Schmoe from Kokomo? No.

However, if the appraisal in unreasonable, it won't sell. I'd bet the "winning" bidder who doesn't meet reserve, in that case, will be offered the car at his or her bid. The attorney's stern sheets are covered; it's a public auction, and what it sells for is what it's worth.

Guess we'll see. It will certainly be interesting.

From the eBay listing.

We bought this car at a Auction in Port Orchard WA. The Stokes Auction gave us a notarized letter stating what they knew about the car.

Looks to me like the seller already bought from the estate to make a profit. We all know how much people think some of these cars are worth due to televised auto auction such as Barrett Jackson's.
