Smile Restarting my stalled SD 455 FORMULA Restoration

I'm getting ready to restart the stalled restoration of my 1974 SD 455 Formula. I have decided to "dig deep" and hire a professional to complete the restoration.
So I will be asking for help & encouragement & will post pictures. Wish me luck!

So, what are the details on this formula? Any pix?

I bought the SD in April 1990 with a fresh engine and drove it for a while. Drag raced it a couple of times at the old Detroit Dragway & Milan MI.
It is a Honduras Maroon with white custom interior, M40, C60, PHS shows 28 options.
What else do you want to know?

Heres how it looked in 1995 when we brought it and four other old cars to Florida. I drove the UHAUL my buddy drove the SD.

Was there a way to tell it was an SD unit?

Good question! Fits carb, plunger lines up, one piece construction, no attaching nut. But no sign of a part#.
Any other opinions?

They were stamped with the PN in black ink on the cylinder, NOS units may have been etched with the number. 1997432 is the SD number.

If it had an ink stamp, it's long gone. After looking for one for years, an original SD TA owner agrèed to sell me an extra used one that he had. I felt lucky to get it.

Got question, I'm starting to put together a parts order.
Pre-heater shroud to air cleaner duct (hose), should it be black vs silver, & is
a screw type clamp or a crimp type clamp correct for a 74? Both are shown in the AMES catalog.

Black paper (of some sort) wrapped inside and out of an aluminum flexible core. I don't think any clamps were used on it.

That sounds like what they are selling. You're correct assy manual does not show any clamp. Thanks!

In case you're wondering, my restore guy has requested pictures of any loose parts so he can give a better estimate or time & $$.
