I'd say good money. Personally, I'd like a nice original 4 speed driver TA for 30k.
Market says they are 40k plus... How the new buyer sees it? Restoration candidate or fun driver to fluff?

Beater..LMAO..
I see a very solid original car that with an interior makeover and some detailing would make a nice driver. Everybody around here has a different opinion on what these cars are anyway. I do get tired of the insistence that every single one of them should be concours restored to the highest levels.

All my cars are drivers. Most say my SD Formula needs a paint job. The car in question is kind of a beater with its door dings.. big dent in the fender.. busted spoiler and tail light.. ripped seats. Though I do think it is cool car.. just not 43k cool..

Very cool car, but 43K is a lot of money considering the condition of the car. I agree with others, redo the interior, fix the little things, and drive it as-is.

I agree about the 43k. Cool call for about 25 to 28.

well, good money or not;
That is probably the absolute best photographed car i have seen in a very long time; I mean there were 114 pictures, including all components, all trouble areas, and anything one might think to ask about. I'd make a wager that the ample pictures pushed this to the final price.

Seller did a great job and got paid well for his efforts.
Admittedly am just a little surprised it went past 35k as much as it did. 43 was some good green and i didn't know that auction site had the potential to bring all the money like that. Congrats to the new owner ! 4spd AC #'s cars aren't being offered very often these days. Most are where they will stay for a pretty good while yet. |

I will say, that this surprised me:
a 3.31:1 non-posi!?! I thought the Trans Am always came with a posi?

/\ i wonder if it was a goof up;
iirc this was the correct gear ratio for a four speed car with a/c... I did miss your comment, but now that you mention it, I see it.

well, this just goes to show that I'm not the most versed on this stuff;
eg. what to look at, and where to look... I hope to get there some day

Trim Tag is second week of July, and ship date on PHS is July 17th. I believe it was either a mis-stamped axle (the line workers would have pulled it based on a tag on the axle that may HAVE been correct, not based on the code stamped in the tube), since seller did state it was a posi. Or maybe it was a mis-build (i.e. rolled off the line with an open 3.31), and original owner caught it the first time he lit the tires up, and had the dealer fix it.
