Default A Pontiac man looks at 40.

I turn 40 in about an hour and a half and I think like most people it’s an age for reflection of which I have done a lot today. The one thing that stands out about my life is that I’ve always been an old car guy. When I was younger I had a beautiful Lemans. I have had a perfect GTO and just too much old muscle to count. I have never had a trailer queen. I have always driven my cars. Most of the time everyday and sometimes as my only vehicle. My current wife and I courted in my 58 Delray business sedan. I only got rid of it because it was a business sedan with no backseat and we had a growing family. I have an 18 year old Tahoe. Still looks good from a distance and everything works. It’s never given me a bit of trouble but like most new cars it’s an appliance. So anyone here’s to 40 here’s to classic muscle and here’s to hoping a lot more age and cars come my way!

40! You're still a youngster! I was there just a few years ago...or so it seems. After a few blinks in time you'll be my age, 68, if you're blessed to live that long, and hopefully longer.
Keep living your dream while you can, make every day matter, and I pray for a long meaningful life for you and your loved ones.

Got you by 20+ years. But keep living the dream. Enjoy each day like it's your last. You never know.

Ha yea. Thought i was 55, but im just 54 5/6. Here's my observations after "40";

Greatly prefer my marriage, faith, and interacting with reasonable other people.
Greatly prefer the older cars for simplicity, metal, diagnose, & work on.
Greatly prefer albums, got no CDs, Pod, got a stash of music on PC but never play em.
Greatly prefer growing my own foods when practical.
Health matters. So we avoid the doctor unless really the solution.
Greatly prefer dumb mechanical appliances with knobs, Soft-button locking diswashers are from the devil!
Dumb fridge with ice cube trays & disabled/removed Ice Maker, not the Soft-button controlled Digital programmable Ice/water system.
Greatly prefer Stone/Brick home with plaster walls, Walk-up Attic, BSMT, not the "Masonite" cementboard (or vinyl) siding, drywall, kitchen island,
Greatly prefer wallplug, not battery-powered.
Greatly prefer Central Vacuum for home, and garage, not ever a pressurized dust bagpipe again
No Cable TV. only watch a nice show for ~1 hour right before bed.
if it seems the worst physical feelings are upon waking-up., then use a sheet&Banket, remove the hot comforter.
A good dump means you are doing things right.
My dog understands me.

Getting older ain’t so bad, based on the alternative.

Ha... same here. I'll be 50 soon but still think and behave young
I have also always been a gear head. I remember looking out the rear window as a kid while we were driving at night and could tell you the year, make and model of the car behind us just by looking at the front end.
Hope you continue to enjoy everything that you have over the years.

I turn 55 next month. Still act like a 25 year old, but my wife and friends call me a grumpy ol' man. Well, screw 'em…………….

Happy Birthday!!
I will be 56 in a couple of months. I like things simple, but also think most of the modern conveniences are great! I like old cars and movies but you can keep the rest of the stuff!

I had to put my car hobby on hold till late 40s, raising a family, a divorce job loss and farewell to my 69 Judge RA IV and 71 HO TA. Now mid 60s, and back into cars with 2 dream cars in my flock. I have had a couple between my latest 2. Life is grand it comes back around

Happy Birthday. The choices and paths you make and take from age 40 to 60 will be far more important than the ones you made from 20 to 40. There, I told ya!
