Default Divider at outlet of original 70 RAIV exhaust manifold

Have the original RamAirIV exhaust manifolds and was wondering about split at the outlet dividing the flow . Has anyone discussed the necessity of this? The repops do not have this divider. It was definitely part of the original casting. No heat riser of course. Had the car since new so I know it's original. Any thoughts? Thanks,Paul

If I had to guess, I would say they are there to tune the exhaust, much like tubular headers. I am guessing the reproductions don’t have it because of the expense. Maybe someone with more knowledge on this will chime in.
