Default 64 GTO Steering column assembly...What am I missing?

64 GTO steering column. This was apart when I got it and am not sure how it goes together and what I am missing. I know there should be a spring in there but nut sure. I can't find a good diagram. I also am not sure how the wheel connects to the horn ring...or maybe it doesn't because it is mixing years. See the pics for what I have.

As always, thanks for any help you can give!

The horn contact plate is the tan piece you see.

This is a '65 set up but I believe they are the same or very similar for '64.

I believe you are also missing the red or tan plastic hollow round insulator with 3 holes on the circumference and the 3 screws that connect the horn bar to the steering wheel along with that flexible horn contact plate. I don't remember the "biscuit" horn contact switch being used in 1964, though since the wheel is the same a 65, you could just use it and skip that horn contact plate.

See diagram for the '64 Deluxe Wheel from the MPC.

Looks like you already have Items 10, 11, & 12 installed, the spring loaded Horn Contact parts.

I have a tilt column and not sure how it differs from a non-tilt column.

But there is a spring Item 22, called the Upper Bearing Steering Shaft Spring.

Not sure if that should be visible in your pic but looks to me like it should be located thru Item 13 the Cancel Cam and around the end of the Steering Shaft.

Item 14 is the Horn Contact Ring but is described as part of Item 13.

Not clear to me if your cancel cam includes the H.C. Ring.

After those parts are in place, the Wheel goes on.

Then the Horn Ring Spring goes in. The one posted by Old Goat Racer looks like the one illustrated for the Standard Wheel (the wheel using the center horn button, not the Deluxe horn ring).

Item 8 for the Deluxe Wheel looks different and also requires Item 7, the Horn Ring Pivot Ring.

Then the Horn Ring goes on, Item 6 which you have.

You also have Item 1, the Horn Ring Ornament.

But before the Ornament is pushed in, you need Item 5, the Spacer Bushing with the Item 4 screws plus Item 3 Washer and finally Item 2, the Nut which it appears you have.

Here is a pic I found in a search.

Shows the correct Item 8 Horn Ring Spring and the Item 7 Horn Ring Pivot Ring from a '64 GTO Deluxe Steering Wheel.

Item 7 Horn Ring Pivot Ring for the '64 GTO Deluxe Wheel p/n 763323 according to the '66 MPC. This should be it. Don't find it reproduced.

And finally this if you don't have it, the Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring, p/n 5673012:

Way easier to find these parts than I expected, '64 only for the GTO but apparently other usage within GM make them a little more common than one would think.

Thanks Andre and John. I think that I have all of the parts coming now.
