Default Inner grease seal

mornin all
i'm doing front brakes/bearings on a 67 bird. i have done this a few times recently on 68's and 69's but this is my first 67. on the 67 there was a grease seal that was slipped over the spindle and pressed up against the backing plate. felt inside a flanged metal ring. i have not seen this before on 68 or 69 birds. the hub has the recess for the pressed in inner seal, which is what i am used to using, but there was not an inner seal pressed into the hub. there was also some grease on the drum side of the backing plate, flanged seal did not appear to be working well. it appears that the 2 seals would conflict so cannot use both. i am leaning towards the seal that presses into the hub as i have done on the 68's and 69's. i cannot find reference to the flanged seal in my assembly manual, but the car is very original....obviously brakes have been worked on before though.

any one familiar with this flanged seal? is it a 67 only item? possible my drums are actually for a 68/69 and that is why that have recess for pressed in seal but it was not installed. either way the pressed in seal seems to be a better solution.
