Default Quick question - How deep is the dish on a '64 Wood Wheel?

Hi Everyone -- I am hoping somebody knows how deep the dish of a 64 Custom Sport Wheel (wood wheel) is.

Just trying to pick a wheel (can't afford an original) and remember sitting in a car with the wood wheel and liking how it fit/was positioned.

Thanks.

I can measure my sport wheel after I get home from work today if someone else doesn’t answer before then.

Crude measurements with a ruler and a handy piece of wood..

I measured from the peak of the center emblem to the top of the rim at 2-9/16"

The center cap measures 3/4" from the wheel to the peak of the center emblem.

So if I removed the center cap, I would expect the dish of the wheel itself to be 2-9/16" + 3/4", or 3-5/16".

Wow -- You folks are super-fast. Thanks B-man for the offer and John V. for the measurements. This gives me some basic parameters to look for in a vintage aftermarket wheel - until such time as the car is finished and I can hunt down a nice original "custom sport". Just too many necessary parts that I need first.

Thanks again.

3.460”

Using a steel straightedge on a bare wheel and a cheap Harbor Freight dial caliper.

Not sure what you want to budget, but saw this one on ebay and thought it might look pretty cool in a '64. Not sure how you would adapt it to the column but I'm guessing that can be figured out.

Doesn't say the dish, the dia. is only 15" and the rim might be thicker than any '64 era wheel, but it is 4 spoke and real wood.

And he'll consider offers.

Thanks John V. -- I am thinking 60s style and with quick-ratio manual steering probably not giving up much diameter. This will most likely be a swap-meet type part - which is why I was needing some idea of dimensions that work.

A friend has an English-made aftermarket wheel that is pretty nice - but almost no dish to speak of...
