Default radio to dash spacing

Has anyone else had an issue with the right side radio knob bezel not sitting flush to the ribbed dash plate?

My 64 radio right radio knob bezel also exhibits the same. I never really noticed it and I have had the radio out a couple times. It's not much but it's there. Here is a couple pictures. If your gap is larger then I am not sure what the issue would be.

Can't you fix that by adjusting the nut behind the sheet metal to hold the radio further forward? That's what those nuts are intended for.

1965 dash knobs.

Two different thickness.

The radio is designed to be sucked tight against the steel dash structure, so the radio surround bezel is even / flush with the trim plate.

There is also a “Z” shape bracket under the radio to support the weight.

There are different designs through the years on this bracket as seen below.

I realized the reason my right side knob was sticking out after I looked at 60sstuff pictures. My knobs are from Ames and the right side knob does not have the center of the knob big enough for the nut so my knob is sitting on top of the nut which pushes the knob outward. I guess the fix would be to drill out the center of the knob slightly bigger than the nut.
