Default Tvs hose routing check again 68

On my 68 I have the tvs hose routed and I think it’s right from my old notes.
On the tree top two are looped off.
CA to the front of carb
DA to front of distributor
MI to hollow stud on back of carb bolt

Now lastly that vacuum port on the intake manifold in front of carb I see goes to the bottom of air cleaner but what if that air cleaner is not functional?

Right now I have a vacuum hose running from it to the air cleaner but I’m wondering if that’s a vacuum loss if not functional and if I should just plug it.

If you have a hand vacuum pump you can check it for leaks. With those thermostatic valves they can fail but not leak .... or fail and leak too. The actual opening for the vacuum on the valve is very tiny ... like 1/32" tiny. So even if it did leak I doubt it would cause any problem at all.

You are correct on the placement of the three hoses, although I think MI sometimes goes to a fitting on the passenger side of the carb towards the back ... someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There’s a plugged vacuum port on passenger side of the carb. I have mi on that carb mounting bolt that is actually an open port at passenger rear of carb.
I guess I could plug that tube and move the hose to the side of the carb at the base.

So it sounds like I cap the ported carb bolt and use the port on the side of the carb?

Oh and I have a manual transmission but don’t have that unit on the back of the intake on the diiagram. Carb is 7028267 with power brakes.
