Expresso Brown RA3 Hardtop
This one sold fast on eBay a couple days ago. A friend of mine bought this car from Gary Cave years ago, then re-sold it. What a car.

Good looking Judge!
Any info on the early years of the car? Looks to be a Company Car of something? (before being sold at the dealer) Lots of options.

Seems like it sold for all the money, and then some.

Probably because it was a very well written dealer type ad. I am Probably in the minority here but I see some things that should be corrected for that kind of money but hey. Good for him

The incorrect engine color is bothersome. Cornering lamps seem like an option that doesn’t improve a car. Neat car for sure, agree with Ram4King the seller must have been pretty happy. Didnt even have to spring $1200 for polyglas tires to get top dollar.

Plus 04-995 Must have been a Zone Exec's car - one with a really big hat. It should have been available for re-sale in May or June. Probably took a little doing to find the right buyer in that price range, even at a discount for prior use it would have still been expensive for a GTO . Beautiful Car the DIY pinstripes from PepBoys look awful though engine color wtf exhaust tips clocked 180* |

I spoke to the seller over the weekend and made an offer, but he had higher offers. It sold for $44k. It is a very nice car and exceptionally well optioned. What stopped me from being the buyer at that price was that I couldn't see it in person in time. for that money on a non-judge it needed a bit of money to get it right... a Gardner exhaust, correct tires (it had whitelines) and a restored correct power antenna. Doesn't sound like much but just that is $3k minimum plus some engine bay detailing. Also the ziebart look underneath would need cleaning up too and that could reveal some surprises. Maryland isn't Arizona. The interior is beautiful but it's all repop (seat covers, dash trim, seat backs, carpet etc, I lean towards virgin interiors as much as possible even if not perfect.
Regardless it's a sweet looking car with an amazing factory installed option list; a Grand Prix SJ type of GTO. $44k was top money but it's a beauty! Note the silver grilles on a Ram Air car, seems to be a mix of black and silver grilles installed on non Judge RA cars. I wonder if it was an early-late thing, a plant thing or just a hit and miss situation.

I just sold my 69 Espresso Brown hardtop on eBay last week also. Much different situation, mine was a 25 yr old resto but it was absolutely rust free and numbers matching motor. The car was fairly original with one acrylic lacquer repaint in the mid nineties. It did need some updating but was a very solid base. I had several hundred watchers and 40 bids before it sold for $17,300. I thought it brought a fair price and I was happy....it left for Tennessee earlier this week.
I remember back when Espresso Brown was considered an undesirable color....now it’s back in style and I always got great comments on it. Was sad to see it go as I had it 20 yrs |

Interesting...when I saw the invoice for this car, I thought I already had it in my records. 1969 GTO Ram Air, Expresso Brown, loaded, from Chieftain Pontiac.
Turns out I had the invoice for ANOTHER 1969 GTO Ram Air, Expresso Brown, loaded, from the SAME dealership (Chieftain Pontiac). It had 25 options, but was a 4-speed/ragtop, not an auto/hardtop like the one above. Perhaps the 25-optioned ragtop is Ram4king's GTO? Mike

I had a copy of PHS on file too. $5040 msrp -- $600 less than the Hardtop (that Hardtop is Crazy Hard LOADED) No PMD use - straight up customer order. Brown / Gold Interior / Black Top was formerly owned by a PY member, he sold it years back Last edited by Baron Von Zeppelin; 09-24-2020 at 02:10 PM. |
