This is where I believe the future of motoring is, not this ridiculous electric propulsion (unless technology can find a way to recharge the vehicle batteries of an electric only vehicle while it is being driven... and we know that's not going to happen anytime soon = perpetual energy principle)

Isn't a big benefit of DI to get better detonation margin for turbo/supercharged engines, at least at lower RPM?

That's how modern engines (like ecoboost) combine a fairly high static CR with high boost; that's how I interpret it.
