Never give up!
I walked out my back door this morning and caught a slight movement on the ground. Looking down I was greeted by this sight. When the snake noticed me he quickly spit the toad out and headed for the safety of the pine straw.

Beats me how a snake can get a hold of a toad...ever pick one up?

I am pretty sure it is a Ribbon snake. They are a common species of Garter snakes. It was about 18"s long.
