CAREFULL!!! SCAMMERS TROLLING THE WANT ADS
I received the following reply to a want ad I had posted. The person who sent it just joined on the 26th. Google.the email and you will see it is a scam. Just a FYI for moderators and buyers

Thanks for the heads up, "Bobrex" has been removed.
If you see this happen again, simply report the post and the moderators will take care of it. As a general rule: if a brand new board member suggests you go buy a part from someone who's not on the board, most likely it's a scam. |

Same guy responded to my post for a tilt column told me he had one. I ask for pictures and the pictures he sent where the same ones from a add I saw a month ago. DONT TRUST HIM. This just happen to me the last two days.

Another scammer was removed from the site overnight for the same thing. It's becoming a more popular method for them, I've seen it happening on other forums as well.
Be careful with any transactions, and report anything that looks suspicious. |

He wanted a bank transfer no PayPal and no check he said he had been ripped off to many times taking checks and that is what got me on the defense. They don’t want you to have an address or real name. I have sold lots of parts taking checks just make sure it clears before sending parts.

I usually always try to Google names, emails, etc when dealing with someone I don't know. This private message stuck out as a scam, looked into it and sure enough it was. I use PayPal most of the time for any purchase unless I truly feel comfortable. I have been seeing more and more parts scams through Facebook market place lately also. I had no interest in contacting him, but wanted to post what I found in case anyone else on the site was dealing with him.

You never know what I might have that you are looking for. EMAIL me. Also check out my other ads here on PY. Just click on user name to view other ads. USPS Money Orders or Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart money gram wire transfer -preferred payments. If Payment doesn't show up in 3-4 days, I move on to the next person that wants it. Ames/PY forum members on top of it always. I responded to a for sale post and was warned about the poster by a few. Looked at it some more and totally trust the warning. Buyer beware! The power of the members here is far reaching! Thanks!!!
