Yup!! Unfortunately, with the time change and some recent weather the project has kind of stalled.

Should at least have the engine back in the car in a couple of weeks then I'll start with the back-half of the car. Looks cherry underneath as well..except for the rear portion. Doing the front and rear in two steps. I used the engine host to get the front of the car lifted really high to paint underneath (just past the mufflers) and as soon as I get the front together I'll do the opposite for the back. Not a full frame off but close enough, I think it will turn our almost as nice.

Should be putting the engine in this weekend. Have been working on a boat project the past few weeks that put this project on hold.

Thumbs up Great Find!

Although I'm a early GTO guy this 69 Firebird you found is really cool! I know the feeling of finding a rare car (what a heart pounding rush) but not wanting to show much emotion around the owner for fear they will sense they have something special. Love those exhaust manifolds!

Cool. You'll haveto show it to the previous owner when it's finished.

Ahhh, saving the front end(headlites & bumper) for last ? Then the fun begins!
The gap gremlin shows up at that stage.
Looks Great! Thanks for saving this classic!

Car is painted. We'll wait a week or so and color sand/buff. Turned out really good other than a few runs in the clear that can be sanded out. Painting in the garage saves$$$$ and looks great! Third car we've done like this in the past year including the Corvette in the background and my 67' bird. Spent $$$$ on the best clear and it has paid off. The color pops out big time without even being sanded/buffed. Probably way more than originally, but it's worth sacrificing a little originality on the "POP" of the paint.

It's the original Windward Blue. At least that's the paint code I got.
